Thomas Quasthoff retires.

German singer Thomas Quasthoff has retired from the stage due to health reasons.

Mr Quasthoff is one of the best singers of our time in my opinion. If you ever experienced a live performance with him you will never forget it. Quasthoff is widely known as a singer of lieder and barouqe music. But he has also done a jazz album and performed a lot of the jazz repetoire on stage. Classicalify heard Quasthoff in Lucerne two years ago performing Mendelssohn "Elijah". Amazing performance. Quasthoff will dedicate his time to the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin. He will continue his work for young performers.
